Cyberspace! SIMA RAMA is a completely digital film club. Even the panels are hosted online.
Every month we recommend and curate action tools (our staff picks of vetted ways to get involved) that are highlighted in each films action kit. Members can add actions and resources to our lists, crowdsourcing knowledge and solutions that give us even more opportunities to get involved. We then publish the top actions taken by members each month in our newsletter and Facebook forum to track and amplify our communities impact.
All panel videos and action kits are archived on the SIMA RAMA site so you can access them anytime.
We select award-winning films from the annual international SIMA Awards. Obviously, we can’t talk about every social issue every month (as much as we’d like to) but with access to the most relevant stories and most powerful filmmaking from over 140 countries, we are sure to bring you the greatest contemporary impact cinema.
We screened SIMA films across 6 continents for the past 5 years, witnessed the demand to build a global digital-community around today’s most pressing issues, and asked ourselves: What if people around the world saw the same doc each month and crowdsourced solutions to the issue it illuminates? We are here to find out.
